Stage 6 videos are probably the best quality video's available to watch on line.

These videos are in DivX format and to view you will first need to download The DivX web player from Stage 6 here

Now you will need to sign up with stage 6 as most videos require you to be logged in with your adult content filter switched off, you can do this in your settings (top right) and set your filter to "show videos containing explicit content"



Please Note Before Reporting A Dead Link

Be sure you are logged into stage 6 with your adult content filter off Before you click on the link, logging in after clicking the link still won't show the video and unlike DailyMotion you will not get a message telling you to log in to view the video, it will simply appear that the video is not there.

Other notes

The DivX Web Player is compatible with all browsers (with exceptions of some earlier versions).

Its is known to have heavy CPU usage at times so try not to have too many windows and other things going at the same time or you may have to restart your browser due to a crash.

Quickly And Easily Get The Direct Link For Any Stage6 Video Embedded on a Website
Works for most video's and sites with some exceptions

Some DivX video's can be found all over the net and some are embedded on sites with problems or lots of ads etc.

You can easily get the direct link for these videos even if the source code on the website is hidden.

What you need is the 7 digit number which you can get quick and easy by playing the video in fullscreen, then click on the screen once for the small Divx controls and the number is displayed there as shown in the image below.....



You then paste it into this url http://stage6.divx.com/video/addnumberhere

So a movie ID with this - 1312577
Would go into the above URL to make this - http://stage6.divx.com/video/1312577

A HackerNeil Guide to Uploading Movies to Stage6!


A few people have been asking me over this month for advice on how to upload movies to Stage6. There isnt a sticky about it so i guess i know where people are coming from. It seems easy for those who know but for those who dont it can be quit challenging. So i thought id go ahead an create a Step-by-Step guide to uploading to stage6.

So basically there are a few thing you need to have/know before you can start the process.

Stage6 only allows certain file types to be uploaded so your movie file has to be that file type i.e .divx or .avi although stage6 seems to have stopped people from uploading .avi in the last while so i would highly recommend uploading only .divx

If you do not have any of these file types then the file needs to be converted. You can get a free movie clip converter from stage6 here.

Use this software to convert your movie file into the correct format i.e .divx This process may take a while so do hae some patience in your pocket.

So once you have the correct file format i guess we can begin!.......


1. So firstly you need to have an account with stage6 and you can do that here.

Once you click the link this is what you will see :



Use an email address that has no personal info attached and one you dont care much about or get one here.

2. So once your all registered then you can go straight to the UPLOAD page which looks something like this....



note : I have been and a few others have been having problems with stage6 in uploading a movie all in one piece. We always get the same error " server not found" but i have found a way around this. All you have to do is use this very simple and reliable piece of software to cut the movie that you have just converted into smaller pieces. I recommend only cutting/splitting it in half i.e two pieces. In my opinion i think stage6 has created new measures of security from uploading illegal content..this being one of them. If your video file is in 2 pieces that means the file is a lot smaller, takes less time to upload and is alot more, less noticeable.

3. Before you can begin uploading Stage6 will ask you to download the uploading software...DO THIS!

4. Once that is done you are finally ready to upload your videos to stage6.



Make sure you name the file something totally stupid and something that has nothing to do with movies in order to avoid stage6 taking the movie down. Select the file you want to upload and then click the add button. Once you do this there will be another button saying "begin uploading" click on this and sit back and watch your file being uploaded.

note : uploading movies takes slot of time if you only have a basic connection so i suggest leaving it over night. Also, try not to use a wireless connection. Wireless is easily corrupted and there for you may loose the sound or the picture after upload is complete! LAN cable is the best!

5 . Once uploaded youll have to go through processing which may take 5 mins or 5 hours but once done click on publish and your movie will be there!

6. Copy the link to the movie and come to here and post the link!

Have noticed a few odd quirks about uploading at stage6. First, it is best to create a folder right on your C drive. the stage6 uploader seems to choke on sub-directories sometimes. Second, make sure to use only lower case file names with letters and numbers only. no dashes dots, etc, (for example - beatlesmusicvideo.divx). Lastly, try to always convert an .avi to .divx to avoid the playback processing error.

There are some buggy things at stage6, but Kate is right. the quality capability is quite amazing, and after all, it is beta, and it is free.

I agree with a lot that you said, dyno. I tried to upload a music video about a week ago, it was in avi format, and it uploaded then got to the processing stage and just stalled forever. I even made lunch and relaxed and watched a movie and after two hours it still hadn't changed so I just said screw it and went back to looking at videos. That's actually how I came across Kate. I saw a movie and she was in one of the comments along with others promoting her site. I took a chance, I hardly ever check out sites people link to, but came to this awesome community.

Then read this guide and uploaded another video as .divx and it went up pretty fast. I love the video quality on Stage 6. Beats the hell out of every other video site on the web that has 320x240 like youtube. The site is getting better every day though and it's so great that I can just download movies straight to my computer and then can burn them to disc. I don't have to mess with movie torrents anymore either. Plus the download speed on Stage 6 is great. Ok I'll shut up now. :p

To make things quick and easy for myself when setting up multiple dpownloads I have a .txt file on my desktop with the following that I copy and paste to and from.

This is what how I set up to down load mutliple epsiodes of TV serries or films. Right click on the desired stage6 url, click copy link location, paste into text file into location

(1) http://stage6.divx.com/user/pinkblush/video/1521538/Helicopters-6

copy video location 7 digit locator 1521538.

paste locator number into relevant area of location (2) http://video.stage6.com/1521538/Die hard 4.6.divx

The text folowing the / Die hard 4.6.divx will be the name of the download file, I normaly change this to somehting more relevant.

Finaly copy and paste your new url from location (2) into your downlaod manager.

That all sounds very complicated, but after a few runs you will get the hang of it. I can add 20 donwloads from stage6 to my download manager this way, as oposed to roughly 5 downloads the normal way by clicking links and going to stage6 and dowloading that way.

You mentioned finding the ID noumber of a movie by going into full-screen and then clicking once. Well unfortunately most sites have hide this ID number so it only comes up with .divx. Any thoughts?
