Driving me mad

I saw a science fiction film a few months back and now want to buy a copy but I cannot remember its name. It had no major stars in it I could name but was really good.

It started off in a salvage ship getting a distress call from a great distance just before they were due to return to earth, they all went into stasis for the trip, but the captain 's pod was defective and he died before the ship came out of hyperspace.

The chap is distress turned out to be another salvor what had captured a pod thing from another dimension which made him evil and he started killing the crew...

Can anyone put me out of my misery?
